MONTESSORI APPROACH

During this master's degree, we have learnt lots of things related to the teaching profession. As trainee teachers, it is important to bear in mind the different types of methodologies we can use within the classroom. We have dealed with it in the subject called AEM II.

Apart from that, knowing other approaches is also relevant in our teaching. Both approaches and methodologies take into account the way the teacher addresses to the students, the role of both agents, classroom management, type of activities (accuracy, fluency) and so on.

Today, we introduce an innovative method which is called Montessori. This is a child-centered educational approach in which children make choices in their learning while the teacher guides their process. It fosters creativity, communication, cooperation and learning autonomy. Children discover for themselves the knowledge of the world.

"Children learn through their own experience"

If you want to know more about the Montessori method, here you have a ppt that explains a little bit about it.
