This post is specially addressed to teachers. Do you know what is Augmented Reality (AR)? Have you ever used it in your lessons? If not, don't waste your time and try it. It's useful and engaging!
Although AR isn't a new technique, its potencial in education has been discovered recently. Students can learn in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the learning process.
This technique combines the real and virtual world interactively. You only need a device such as a laptop or a smartphone and an activator (QR code or realia).
There are three levels of Augmented Reality:
- Level 0 - QR Code. This is the most basic and simple level.
- Level 1- Markers. There are more complex codes.
- Level 2- Realia (real objects or pictures)
Some teachers have already implemented QR codes in the classroom setting, for instance, in our Master's Degree. It is certain that students' motivation increases and they are more willing to learn in this way. Apart from that, their role becomes active and interaction is present.
You can design your own QR codes online. Here you have some webpages:
💻QR Code Generator
💻QR Code Monkey
💻Generador de Códigos QR
Some of these pages have a free trial. So you don't have excuses to apply this new technique in class.
Here you have an example of a customised QR Code:
I hope you will use it as much as I do!
